I’ve been shooting nudes since I first started s

I’ve been shooting nudes since I first started shooting professionally yet I can’t say exactly what first inspired me. I come from a fashion background and I love beautiful clothing but I love a truly free body even more.

There’s something magical that happens when our armor is shed and there’s nothing left to hide behind. Holding the space for someone to be free and reconnect with themselves is truly incredible.

In 2015 I put on a see-through dress and asked my mom to take a photo. I sent the photo to my best friend asking if she could tell if it was me and if she thought I could get away with posting it and remain anonymous. It’s a little disingenuous if I can’t hold that space for myself and it didn’t take long for me to be able to stand by my own nude self-portraits.

Physically showcasing my WOMEN series IRL has provided me a profound new experience with my work and audience. Unabashedly having dialogue about freedom, self-expression, autonomy and the importance of being able to celebrate making our own choices is what it’s all about.

I watch people and their process digesting my work. They marvel at the power these women hold and I watch some of them cower, intimidated thinking they couldn’t possibly be this bold. But… I know they could too. We all can. I hope this series goes full circle and the invitation makes its way through to the viewers who doubt it’s in them. Every single body is beautiful and freedom starts in the mind.

I was talking to an older couple yesterday, marrie

I was talking to an older couple yesterday, married 36 years, about life’s chapters. They shared their story of how they met and showed me pictures of their early life together. We spoke on how you never know where you might find that catalyst for change that can spark something incredible; something life-changing, the thing {or person} that starts that next chapter.

These little vignettes are what make life special to me. The truths shared in a happenstance exchange can sometimes be that catalyst, and at the very least are an invitation to look within and take in the wisdom.

This is an exciting moment in time for me. Filled with a lot of love and a lot of magic. Thank you to the strangers and their secret messages, thank you to my community and the support you share. Thank you - internet. Thank you 🤍

And thank you @kfierrophotographs for this pic. You were a person whose path merged with mine, seamlessly and at the perfect time. You’re family to me and it’s been so wonderful to grow together. Love you, brother.
